Bobrovsky Records Shutout in Panthers' Victory
Sunrise, FL - The Florida Panthers took Game 1 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers with a dominant 3-0 victory on Saturday night.
Carter Verhaeghe scored the game-winning goal at 12:45 of the second period, assisted by Aleksander Barkov and Sam Bennett. Sam Reinhart and Aaron Ekblad added empty-net goals in the final minutes to seal the victory.
Florida goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was spectacular, stopping all 25 shots he faced to earn the shutout. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl led the Oilers with a combined nine shots on goal, but could not find the back of the net.
